Introduction of Capital Forum
The Ninth China International Fair for Investment & Trade (CIFIT),
sponsored by the China’s Ministry of Commerce, co-sponsored by the
United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the
World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), United
Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and
International Finance Corporation (IFC) of World Bank, will be held
in Xiamen, China during September 8-11, 2005. CIFIT, the only
large-scale international promotional event for China to attract
foreign direct investments, has invited governments of various
nations and investment promotion agencies for participation. It has
gradually become an important bridge for international business
cooperation and development of new business opportunities.
“Capital Forum”, one of the CIFIT’s major activities, has become a
high-rank and influential event of China’s capital markets.
Following the 2003’s forum -“Summit of the World’s Major Stock
Exchanges” and 2004’s -“Summit of Securities Markets and SMEs
Financing Innovation (2004)”, this year’s Capital Forum will be
“The 3rd Summit of the World’s Major Stock Exchange –
Listed Company’s Supervision & Corporate Governance”. It will
be held in Xiamen, China on September 10, 2005. Many
participants, including leaders from China’s Ministry levels and
business communities, officials from China Securities Regulatory
Commission and Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges,
CEOs of multinationals and renowned
international Chinese financial institutions and listed companies,
will gather in the forum to share their knowledge discuss on
Corporate Governance issues.
During the CIFIT period, the Organizing Committee will also hold two
special seminars for listing in Korea Stock Exchange and Singapore
Stock Exchange. All attendees to the seminars can also participate
in investment projects match-making and “Investment Stars” golf
tournament for further communication.
